Teen Triple P (For parents of teens and pre-teens)
The teenage years can bring new challenges for families. As young people move toward greater independence, parents are often navigating a delicate balance: Staying connected and supportive, while also setting appropriate expectations in the transition to adulthood.
Teen Triple P is a structured, evidence-based parenting program designed to support parents of adolescents (typically high school-aged) who may be experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, family conflict, or challenges with motivation, independence, or risk-taking.
The program provides practical, research-informed strategies to help parents maintain a strong, respectful relationship with their teenager, while guiding them through this important stage of development. The focus is not on control, but on supporting young people to develop responsibility, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills over time.
In this structured, 6–8 session program, parents can expect to:
Develop a clearer understanding of adolescent development, and how this influences behaviour, emotions, and relationships
Strengthen connection with their teenager while supporting their growing independence
Learn communication strategies that reduce conflict and help keep the relationship open
Support their teenager to manage strong emotions and navigate challenges more effectively
Set clear, reasonable expectations and follow through with calm, consistent boundaries
Respond to common challenges such as conflict, disengagement, or risk-taking behaviours
Build collaborative problem-solving skills to support independence and responsibility
Develop a personalised plan tailored to their family’s values, goals, and current concerns
Practise strategies with support, reflection, and troubleshooting along the way
